POSITION OVERVIEW

The Donor Relations Coordinator is a key member of the Loyola Development team.

This role is a primary contributor to the organizational fundraising activities, including coordinating, processing and managing accurate donation receipts and acknowledgments, as well as maintaining accurate donor records in the database.

The Coordinator will also be responsible for prospect intelligence, research and analytics to identify existing and potentially new donors for cultivation into Loyola’s Major Gifts program.


PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

Database Management and Reporting

  • Receive, process, deposit, acknowledge and report gifts received by the organization.

  • Manage the gift acknowledgement process inclusive of developing appropriate thank you letters, mail merges, printing/processing acknowledgements, and garnering appropriate signatures in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Work with the Marketing and Development Directors to generate and output appropriate contact listings for various event invitations and marketing communications based off identified donor segmentations in the database.

  • Coordinate with the Business Office to ensure that all gifts and funds received are reconciled with the organization’s general ledger.

  • Prepare development reports and queries as requested for department, leadership and Board meetings, including annual donor honor roll listings.

  • Assist with the coordination of special events, including attendance and support tracking in the database.

Prospect Intelligence/Research/Analytics

  • Assist in managing wealth screening and research tools for the Development team.

  • Analyze the existing donor database for researching and identifying current supporters who may be prospects for inclusion in Loyola’s Major Gifts program.

  • Research first time supporters to the school to identify candidates for further cultivation as potential Major Gift prospects.

  • Assist in identifying potential grant and foundation opportunities to support Loyola’s grant solicitation efforts.

General Fund Development Support

  • Develop a detailed understanding of Loyola’s history, mission and programs to be an effective advocate/spokesperson for the organization.

  • Assist with the Development and Marketing teams in brainstorming innovative approaches to both potential and current supporters to help grow our institutional fundraising efforts.

  • Collaboratively support all fundraising activities of Loyola including donor solicitations and communications, special events and general development activities.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to identify and maintain standards and rectify errors when identified.

  • Agility with information management software and the ability to work with large and complex spreadsheets and databases.

  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality of constituent information.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including: writing, proofreading and ability to clearly communicate information effectively and persuasively.

  • Excellent personal demeanor with the ability to maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally including donors, supporters and staff.

  • High enthusiasm for the mission of Loyola High School.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The ideal candidate of choice will have any combination of training, education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform this position’s duties such as:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Related experience and knowledge of the principles and practices of non-profit fundraising activities including gift entry, database administration, records management and IRS regulations regarding charitable giving.

  • Database management/analytics – prospect intelligence

  • Excellent research, organizational and communications skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
