To promote, develop and support business and industry for the benefit of the Northville Community.
The Northville Chamber of Commerce is an association of businesses, organizations and individuals, with a 57-year history of working to improve the quality of life and promote the economic wellbeing of our community through leadership, vision, advocacy, engagement and committed participation. The Chamber team works throughout the year to coordinate events, and to support local businesses in their effort to reach their goals. In nurturing community ties and business relationships, the Chamber encourages member and community partnerships, while maintaining the close-knit connections which make Northville a model community to live, work, and play.
The Chamber is led by an 11-member Board of Directors consisting of business leaders and leaders in the community. We are dedicated to both our members and our community.
PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage business related tasks such as creating reports, organizing events, taking minutes, and other organizational tasks
Handling office tasks, such as filing, generating reports and presentations, creating a weekly e-news, sending out other member correspondence (utilizing Constant Contact, Facebook and Chamber Master), filing and retrieving corporate records, documenting, and reporting
Managing daily bookkeeping tasks such as: expense reports, matching receipts, inputting invoices, receiving, issuing payments, and recording payroll
Reconciling multiple accounts on a monthly basis
Must be able to lift 25 pounds often in daily work
Helping prepare for meetings and accurately recording minutes from meetings
Maintain polite and professional communication via phone, e-mail, mail, and any other office communications
Must be able to work weekdays, some evenings, early mornings, and weekends based on event needs
Ability to create a memorable guest experience with personalized service and timely communication of members or community member’s needs
Financially responsible for forecasting, budgeting, P&L analysis, internal and inventory controls and managing controllable expenses related to budget
Coordinate activities with other staff in order to achieve optimal levels of communication, member satisfaction and associate recognition
Qualifications
Preferable have a detailed understanding of Microsoft Office Suite
Be innovative and willing to work with challenges that the members and community may have
Associates degree in a related field
Prior administrative or bookkeeping experience
Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced quickly changing environment
A proactive approach to problem solving with strong decision-making skills
Professional level verbal and written communication skills
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two to four years of progressive front office experience in a high-volume office or retail environment
You must be an extremely positive and outgoing individual who is completely focused on providing the members and community with a memorable experience
Effectively responds to and proactively handles member requests and concerns
Applicants must be able to pass pre-employment background check
