Overview

The Director is responsible for all donor relations and alumni engagement efforts, including design and implementation of comprehensive institutional advancement plans for our annual fund, major gifts and planned giving, and capital campaigns. This position oversees programs and projects that strategically engage alumni in strengthening programs that provide tangible benefits to alumni and current students. The Director of Advancement has the capabilities to manage the strategic marketing and communications of Regina High School. The Director of Advancement reports directly to the President and also chairs an ad-hoc committee of the Board of Directors.

POSITION Requirements

  • Identifies, cultivates, communicates with, and solicits major gifts prospects.

  • Activates and oversees capital campaign consistent with the strategic plan.

  • Develops, implements, and manages planned giving program providing mechanisms for bequests, charitable trusts, and endowments.

  • Develops and implements fundraising policies and procedures.

  • Develops an actionable marketing plan that elevates the school brand and supports the overall school mission through planned initiatives and deployment.

  • Develops and oversees donor and prospective donor stewardship programs.

  • Oversees the gift giving process and recognition program.

  • Supervises and collaborates with Advancement Office team members, including the Manager of Admissions, Manager of Marketing and Communications, Manager of Alumni Affairs and provides guidance in the continued development and implementation of programs managed by these positions.

  • Responsible for the annual operating budget of the Advancement Office.

  • Sets the annual calendar for all fundraising events.

  • Ensures comprehensive, accurate constituent, donor and prospective donor records utilizing a Raiser’s Edge NXT System.

  • Generates financial reports regarding gifts, grants, and pledges.

  • Responsible for the overall coordination of all volunteers associated with the advancement program.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, or other applicable field required

  • Familiarity with the Franciscan tradition of peace, service, and respect for the unique dignity of each person.

  • Experience in fund development, marketing, or related field; preferably three to five years fundraising experience;

  • Supervisory/leadership experience with small teams

  • Demonstrated accomplishments in growing revenue, specifically relating to fundraising

  • Fluency with donor tracking software; proficiency using Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred;

  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, and superior interpersonal skills, with a natural way of connecting with various constituents and audiences;

  • Knowledge of marketing best practices to support advancement and overall school initiatives.

  • Experience in donor prospecting, in cultivating and developing relationships with key donors,

  • Understanding of how to build and expand the donor base through a variety of appropriate and effective strategies that are carefully shaped and uniquely targeted to various constituencies;

  • Ability to manage/oversee special events with an eye towards helping donors to connect at a deeper level with the school and especially the students.
